What is UnionPay?

UnionPay is the sole bankcard association in China. With over 7.5 billion UnionPay cards issued globally, UnionPay is the world's biggest card network. It is widely used by Chinese shoppers internationally as well as domestically. By March 2019, UnionPay cards are accepted in 174 countries and regions, and by 52 million merchants worldwide. As part of their online payment processing, UnionPay offers an e-commerce solution, UnionPay Online Payments), which allows for cards to be accepted over the Internet with real-time transaction authorization.

How does the extension work?

Sunflowerbiz UnionPay extension integrates the official UnionPay Cross-border API into Magento2. After selecting Unionpay as a payment method on the checkout page, customers get redirected to UnionPay's official site to enter their UnionPay bank card numbers and passwords to complete the payment. After receiving the payment, UnionPay sends a notification to the Magento store. Then, the order status will be auto updated on the backend.
