Alipay is a third-party mobile and online payment platform, established in Hangzhou, China in February 2004 by Alibaba Group and its founder Jack Ma. Alipay overtook PayPal as the world's largest mobile payment platform in 2013. In the fourth quarter of 2016, Alipay had a 54% share of China's US$5.5 trillion mobile payment market, by far the largest in the world.
This module is a payment gateway that allows your customers to pay via Alipay both in PC and mobile browsers. In PC browsers, after a customer is trying to pay via Alipay during checkout, it will redirect to Alipay's official site to process the payment. It will display a QR code provided by Alipay with transaction info on the checkout page. The customer can either scan the QR code using the Alipay app installed on his smartphone or enter his Alipay account and password to complete the payment. The customer's Alipay account and password will not be stored on your site. After the payment, customers will return your site, and the order status will auto change to processing on the site backend.
In mobile browsers, when a customer is trying to pay via Alipay during checkout, it will auto call the Alipay app installed on his smartphone to make the payment. The customer will enter his password within the Alipay app on his smartphone. The customer's Alipay account and password will not be stored on your Magento site. After the payment, the customer will return your Magento site, and the order status will auto change to processing on the site backend.
Pricing & Account
Please register an Alipay Global Account on Alipay Global site and request the Alipay Cross-border Website Payment and Alipay Cross-border Wap Payment. There are no fees in requesting the services.
PLEASE NOTE: This Alipay module integrates the Alipay cross-border API provided by the Alipay Global Platform for Alipay Global accounts. If you are native Alipay merchants in Mainland China, please purchase the native Alipay module.
